This is one of 10 prototype projects I submitted when trying to get a book deal. This one wasn't used in the book. I found it a couple of weeks ago :)

Thank you ALL for taking the time to post and comment! I've been on spring break with the g-kids and wasn't able to email you individually ... so THANKS!

Aimilee, the pot is half of a wooden pot that can be bought in the craft stores, four to a package. I painted it with gold acrylic paint.

Becky, this project did not get in the book because it is "too traditional". The editor wanted non-traditional pieces never seen before. The generic greeting cards in the book do have traditional quilled flowers, but other than those, all the other 29 projects were "new ideas or techniques" at the time.

I created and submitted MANY projects that were not part of the 30 book projects. Just as an example -- the last project, the weddingscape items, I made about 26 different boxes with quilling on top before they chose the off-white monochrome for the wedding project.
